Job Description This is a site-based position at Sommerset Dam, DIDO with accommodation Monday to Friday (Flexibility Available), this will initially be a 12 month contract. The SHE&W Advisor contributes to the purposeful improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Wellbeing (SHE&W) culture, and further partners with the business and leaders to develop and drive positive understanding of SHE&W expectation and behaviors to the highest level wherever we undertake work. How you’ll make a difference Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Provide expert advice and support to management and employees on SHE&W matters. Facilitate training and awareness programs to foster a safety-first culture. Monitor and report on SHE&W performance metrics and trends. Engage with stakeholders to promote wellbeing initiatives and support mental health in the workplace. Collaborate with project teams to integrate SHE&W considerations into all phases of project delivery. Partner with leaders to develop and drive positive understanding of SHE&W expectation and behaviours to the highest level wherever we undertake work. Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements. Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace. Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards. Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice. May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project. Qualifications The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in SHE&W management, ideally within the engineering or construction sectors, working on site. Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
