Description

Position Purpose: This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for wind & solar projects. The Safety & Health Representative will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents, and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

§ Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations.
§ Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
§ Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

§ Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
§ 1-3 years of construction safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

§ Assists with new hire general safety orientation.
§ Coordinates, conducts and documents safety meetings and on-site safety assessments.
§ Assists management in preparing safety policies and procedures; provides support in implementing these policies and procedures.
§ Ensures that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.
§ Works with the Safety Department and ensures that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
§ Provides safety technical support and education for supervisors and employees. Provides feedback to encourage learning.
§ Promotes proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions.
§ Monitors safety compliance, creating awareness and set priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement.
§ Assists and documents incident investigations to include a detailed RCA, sharing of lessons learned, communicating next steps and tracking associated action items.
§ Nationwide travel is required.
