Description
In this role, the EHS Intern will support the Environmental, Health & Safety team to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment. The role provides hands-on exposure to industrial safety practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-precision ball-bearing production facility.    Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist with hazard evaluations in the workplace. * Maintain, develop and implement safety plans and programs. * Work with the EH&S department to mitigate hazards. * Help to provide employee training on various workplace safety issues. * Help to investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and see how they may be prevented in the future. Skills and Abilities: * Professionally interact with all levels of the organization. * Attention to detail in a busy, fast-paced environment. * Able to maintain high level of confidentiality. * Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills. * Be customer service focused. * General computer literacy, with a proficiency in MS Office applications. * Familiarity with OSHA and NFPA rules and regulations. * General knowledge of manufacturing safety process and practices. * Working knowledge of industry standards including, but not limited to: lockout/tagout, HAZCOM, HAZWOPER, machine guarding, and personal protective equipment. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, grab, twist, carry, push and pull. * Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, as necessary. * Must be able to navigate all areas of the facility.
