Sedgman and HOCHTIEF Infrastructure have been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management contractor for Vulcan’s Lionheart Project, delivering an end-to-end solution for the Lithium Extraction Plant and Central Lithium Plant.  This marks an exciting chapter in our growth as we support major critical raw materials projects. Our team is at the forefront of delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions that drive the energy transition across Europe. To support our growth, we’re looking for a Safety Lead to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany on a contract basis.  As the Safety Lead, you will be responsible for: * Drive compliance with the Site Safety & Health Management System (SHMS) through audits, inspections, and proactive monitoring. * Compile monthly HSE data and prepare accurate operational reports. * Ensure timely incident reporting and lead analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities. * Identify emerging risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies. * Maintain and review site risk registers, including conducting hazard and risk assessments. * Confirm critical controls are identified, implemented, and consistently monitored. * Monitor subcontractor compliance with all HSEQ requirements. * Support subcontractor risk assessments, tender reviews, and mitigation planning. * Build strong subcontractor engagement to strengthen safety awareness and performance. * Ensure statutory and operational HSE training requirements are maintained and delivered. * Maintain training needs analyses and support Safety Committees and site‑wide communication. * Assist internal and external stakeholders with investigations into Recordable and Significant Events, including action follow‑up. * Partner with site teams to manage hazardous substances and dangerous goods safely and effectively. * Provide practical, generalist HSE advice to operational teams on key safety matters. * Coordinate and deliver coaching for frontline employees on key safety topics (JSOs, risk management, fitness for work, manual handling, and site safety plans). * Conduct regular travel to operational sites to assess performance, provide visible safety leadership, and support HSE initiatives. * Ensure site compliance with WHS/OH&S legislation and apply regulatory changes as required. * Lead the development, maintenance, and review of Safety and Environmental Management Plans. * Oversee audit and inspection programs and support timely close‑out of corrective actions. You are an experienced Safety Lead with the following qualifications and background: * 8+ years Mining / Mineral Processing / Crushing / Heavy Industry experience. * 5+ yrs Minesite Management experience * Experience in organisation that provides operational services. * Proficiency in personnel management and stakeholder engagement. * Experience in environmental management. * Effective communication capability (at different levels organisational levels). * Proficiency in report writing * Fluent in English and German languages.
