POSITION SUMMARY

Assists Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives member systems with the Safety and Loss Prevention efforts, with a maintained proficiency of current regulatory, safety, and training standards.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years work experience in electric utility field preferred
  • Up to 50% Intra-State and overnight travel
  • Excellent communication/public speaking skills
  • Safety Training or Distribution/Transmission experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Theory and Application preferred.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Safety Code and other applicable regulatory standards preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and facilitates Safety & Loss Prevention meetings for Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives member Systems as requested.

  • Consults with cooperatives in solutions to problems concerning Safety & Loss Prevention matters.

  • Assists cooperatives with instruction in areas such construction and maintenance work on energized overhead and URD distribution circuits.
  • Assembles and reviews instructional needs and regulatory requirements and reports on same to cooperatives.
  • Conducts and documents crew audits for personnel performing live-line work and other daily operational tasks. Provides feedback for abating any recognized hazards.
  • Reviews and assists in accident investigation and reports as requested.
  • Coordinates and facilitates member systems’ requests for storm and emergency assistance.
  • Organize and coordinate workshops and conferences as directed for Kentucky Electric Cooperative member systems.
  • Facilitates RESAP and Commitment to Zero in accordance with Federated Rural Insurance Exchange and NRECA initiatives.
