Description

Ayrton Group are seeking a Safety Management Systems Manager to join us on an ongoing project with a large utilities provider. The preferred office location is Castlebar Co. Mayo, but as the client has multiple locations across the country they are open to candidates based within a commutable distance of any office location.
The SMS Manager will maintain strategic oversight of the company Safety Management System to ensure regulatory compliance with National and International Health & Safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
This is a 12 month contract position with the potential for further extension, commencing in September.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years management experience with Senior stakeholders is required.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 systems is required.
  • Previous experience in the utilities industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects with tight deadlines and high delivery standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and under pressure.
  • Able to influence and engage at all levels of an organisation.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead teams to deliver internal audits on compliance.
  • Continuous development of the SMS in compliance with ISO 45001.
  • Manage preparation for upcoming ISO audits.
  • Manage company Health & Safety Risk register.
  • Senior stakeholder management.
  • Foster common approach to Health & Safety across all departments.
  • Lead Continuous improvement requirements for SMS.
  • Risk assurance.
  • Set high standards, by encouraging others to embed a Health & Safety culture.
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.
