The Safety Manager will develop, coordinate and implement company regulations and standards set forth by the Occupational Safe and Health Act (OSHA). Integrate and promote effective safety operations in the organization.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual will possess the following combination of education, experience, skills and qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid qualification in Occupational HealthSafety
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to asses and evaluate teams and individual performance
  • Capacity for listening, dealing with confrontation, and overcoming objections
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and concrete way in front of an audience
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Accepts and adapts to frequent change
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in office suite (i.e. PowerPoint, excel, etc.)
  • Bi-Lingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with manager to assist, plan and execute safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of safety Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents and health problems
  • Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management
  • Manage safety committee - preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Develop and facilitate new hire orientation training conduct training and presentations for safety matters and accident prevention
  • Provide guidance and support to management and field staff
  • Monitor employee’s use of proper PPE as they arrive to work and also in the field.
  • Check on employees and crews in the field to make sure they are following our safety standards and use of PPE.
  • Conduct Foremen training with the assistance of the Operations Managers.
  • Conduct yearly Safety Rodeo’s for both the OrlandoTampa branches.
  • Attend weekly Operations Managers meeting to discuss safety issues/concerns.
  • Traveling between branches (OrlandoTampa).
