Construction Safety Manager Location: Cameron, WV Duration: 8+ Months (Start: Immediate Need) Type: 1099 Contractor Job Details Hourly Rate: $50/hr (based on experience and certifications) Per Diem: $115/day (7 days per week) if over 50 miles from project location Completion Bonus: $150/month Pay: Weekly Schedule: Monday - Thursday (possible Fridays) First shift 40-50 hours per week (either 4x10s or 5x10s) Project Scope The Construction Safety Manager will oversee electrical contractors working on the construction of transmission lines and substations. Our client represents the owner, AEP, as a third-party safety manager. The project begins at the Cameron, WV, substation and extends 10 miles west to another substation that is being rebuilt. Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and 2+ years of safety experience OR OSHA 500/510 certification and 5+ years of safety experience in electrical utility work OR BCSP certification (CSP, CHST, or equivalent) Incident investigation cert and exp Additional Requirements: Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification Strong understanding of construction safety standards Key Responsibilities Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations Provide safety training as needed Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required Skills & KnowledgeSkills: Excellent public speaking and communication abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team OSHA outreach training experience (preferred) Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information Knowledge: Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulations Equal Opportunity Employer Sheakley is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, or any other protected status.
