JOB DESCRIPTION: SAFETY MANAGER

Position Summary: The Safety Manager plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across construction projects through proactive leadership, field presence, and technical expertise. This position is split between field operations and office responsibilities (approximately 70/30 split), ensuring compliance with safety regulations, supporting continuous improvement, and reducing risk across the organization. The Safety Manager works closely with field crews, project teams, and senior leadership to prevent injuries, drive regulatory compliance, and apply human performance principles in daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Health, or related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in construction safety management.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA Construction and DOT regulations.
• Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience building trust and engagement with field personnel.
• Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ELD/telematics systems.
• Other Requirements
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel 70% of the time to jobsite locations.
• Physically able to work on active construction sites and perform field inspections as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk, stand, and move around active construction sites for extended periods.
• Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling required during inspections.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds unassisted.
• Tolerance for working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit construction areas and equipment.
• Visual and auditory acuity to identify hazards and effectively observe worksite activities.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify potential safety hazards and regulatory violations.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions in dynamic or emergency situations.
• Capable of multitasking and managing time effectively in both field and office environments.
• Ability to read and interpret complex regulatory documents and technical information.
• High level of emotional intelligence to lead safety conversations and influence without authority.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and safety planning.
  Pay Range: $100,000-115,000
  FLSA Status: Exempt
