About the Role:
The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that employees comply with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role provides safety leadership and oversight for projects across designated geographical locations, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and fostering a culture of workplace safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing
  • Expertise in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry
  • Hands-on experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a safety role
  • Safety or related technical undergraduate degree (such as CSP)
  • Safety related credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI certifications, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • In-depth knowledge of utility and construction safety programs.
  • OSHA and DOT regulatory compliance experience.
  • OSHA 10, 30, and 500 (Train-the-Trainer) certifications.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Familiarity with the OSHA Strategic Partnership (OSP) program.
  • Strong background in risk management principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Oversee and manage the company’s comprehensive safety program to ensure a culture of safety excellence.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure appropriate safety staffing and resource allocation.
  • Ensure fieldwork compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct audits and provide constructive feedback, leadership, and guidance to safety specialists.
  • Develop and coordinate cross-training initiatives and facilitate safety training programs as needed.
  • Advise management on strategies to enhance safety procedures and best practices.
  • Perform both scheduled and unannounced inspections, evaluations, and surveys, documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Review, analyze, and contribute to the development of accident reports, safety publications, bulletins, and compliance documentation.
  • Offer technical expertise and professional guidance to mitigate unsafe behaviors and environmental hazards.
  • Prepare and present progress reports on safety activities, trends, and studies.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, fulfilling responsibilities at company-designated office or field locations.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as relevant industry-specific ethical standards.
