Description As a leader in utility construction with a strong focus on safety, quality, and performance. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team, based out of our Belleville and Detroit offices. The Safety Manager will be instrumental in fostering and ensuring a safe working environment for our employees, subcontractors, and partners while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, procedures, and policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard analyses for utility construction projects. Lead investigations on incidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Provide classroom and field-based training on safety topics to employees and crews (small and large groups). Maintain all safety certifications, training records, and compliance documentation. Serve as a resource to project teams regarding safety planning, risk assessment, and accident prevention. Monitor, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to company leadership. Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and client-specific requirements. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in occupational health and safety. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (safety, construction management, engineering, or related field). 2–5 years of construction safety experience Residence within the Metro Detroit Area. Experience delivering safety training programs to both small and large groups. Safety certifications and/or formal safety education. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no major infractions). Ability to successfully pass federally mandated drug and alcohol testing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
