The Rayburn Energy Station is a natural gas-fired power plant with a nominal generation capacity of 750 megawatts (MW). The facility features a single set of two Siemens SGT6-5000F series combustion turbine generators (CTGs) operating in high-efficiency combined-cycle mode. In this configuration, the hot exhaust from each CTG flows into a dedicated Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), maximizing energy output through steam-driven power generation.
OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY
The Safety Manager role presents a pivotal opportunity to enhance workplace safety by developing and overseeing comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA regulations. This position involves coordinating safety training, conducting regular inspections, and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all levels of staff. By effectively managing emergency response plans and collaborating with regulatory agencies, the Safety Manager ensures a proactive approach to incident prevention and compliance, ultimately contributing to a safer work environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment which may require entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise from equipment and machinery. Work may involve high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions. Working in proximity to high voltages and currents (with proper training and equipment), operating heavy equipment, rolling stock, and entering hazardous environments may also be required.
Some duties require the use of protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses, eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
