Description The Safety Manager will oversee and implement all safety programs, compliance initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies for the North Carolina operations. This position will ensure all crews operate in compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations, while fostering a proactive safety culture. This role includes coordinating with the North Carlonia division for knowledge sharing and alignment of best practices. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Safety Program Development & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s safety policies and procedures specific to the North Carolina Division. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards through regular job site inspections. Review and align safety reports, procedures, and policies with company and regulatory requirements. Develop best practices and introduce safety innovations to continually improve division safety performance. Implement lockout/tagout procedures on damaged equipment and vehicles until safe for use. Coordinate the procurement, issuance, and compliance of personal protective equipment (PPE); enforce corrective actions when deficiencies are identified. Training & Communication Lead and document daily and weekly Toolbox Talks and safety meetings. Provide field-based and classroom safety training sessions for employees and supervisors to reinforce safe work practices. Educate teams on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and compliance expectations. Incident Management & Reporting Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, document findings and issue corrective actions. Collaborate with HR and Operations to support worker’s compensation cases and return-to-work programs. Maintain accurate safety records, inspection logs, and training documentation for the North Carolina Division. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in safety coordination or management, preferably in traffic control or construction. Strong understanding of industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently, travel to job sites, and build positive working relationships with teams. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and Fit for Duty physical exam. Have a valid driver's license, good driving record and qualify as a company driver. Physical Requirements: Physical strength and stamina. Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain. Be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
