POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Manager, under the direct supervision of the Security Director, is responsible for all aspects of the Casino safety and risk programs, including safety, loss of control, and property/liability of claims. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Security Director. Collaborate with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies on assigned activities. Oversee the annual renewal of enterprise insurance policies related to liability and workers' compensation and manage all associated claims. The Safety Manager will report directly to the Security Director.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards. * Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listen to and respond to guest and Team Member for concerns and questions. * Responsible for the implementation and administration of all Team Member safety training programs. * Responsible for the implementation and administration of manager training regarding safety and regulatory compliance in their departments. * Train and maintain required programs in compliance with ADA Title III Codes, OSHA, i.e., Haz‐Com, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, etc. * Recommend changes to the Security Director to reduce the frequency of safety problems and to ensure compliance with state fire codes and OSHA regulations. * Chairperson for the safety committee. Maintain and distribute meeting minutes to appropriate departments and management staff. * Ensure confidentiality in all aspects of communication. * Continue education to stay abreast of changes and alerts pertaining to workers' compensation and other related regulatory agencies. * Act in relation to all Team Members, Guests and vendors in a manner consistent with the Company's goals and in best interest of the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort. * Responsible for all workers' compensation claims. * Perform investigation regarding all claims to gather documentation and witness statements for proper claim management for both workers compensation and guest accidents. * Conduct risk-based investigations into incidents (e.g., workplace safety, food safety). Act as the organization's subject matter expert on all safety guidance and protocols. * Establish and maintain CPR/AED training for all security/safety personnel and interested Team Members. * Practice excellent grooming and uniform standards. * Manage all risk and safety activities, including insurance administration, safety protocols, loss control, and claims management. * Review and approve all safety-related reports. * Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. * Responsible for performing the job duties of the Security Manager or Supervisor, as needed. * Responsible for ensuring that staff payroll is completed and approved prior to the closing of payroll deadline. * Other job-related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form. * Knowledge in security, investigation, loss prevention, safety awareness/programs, and risk management. * Knowledge of occupational medicine principles, safety protocols, and all relevant OSHA laws and regulations. * Comprehensive understanding of insurance principles claims management, and related terminology. * Ability to exercise discretion, and to handle sensitive situations with tact. * Excellent guest service skills, and the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, guests, and Team Members. * Ability to perform interviews and interrogations. * Excellent organizational skills. * High degree of integrity in performing job duties. * Ability and experience to manage and develop staff talents to enhance teamwork, and Company image. * Ability to use office equipment with strong skills in Microsoft Office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in criminal justice, business administration, management or related field preferred. * Minimum of five (5) years of in a risk/safety position with at least (1) year in a supervisory capacity or above; manager experience preferred. * Must have a valid EMT or Paramedic certification at all times during employment and keep documentation on file with the department. * Registered with California BSIS required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire). * Experience in risk and safety required. * Casino experience in a security or safety position preferred. * Demonstrated experience in training. * Current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire). * Current RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire). * Valid California driver's license and insurability required. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation. * Must be at least 21 years of age. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * All work is performed on site in Madera, CA. * Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions. * Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift. * Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift. * Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. with or without assistance. WORK CONDITIONS: Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Work is performed outdoors and can involve continuous exposure to high and low temperatures, sunlight, wet surfaces, and noise.
