EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION (REQUIRED):

  • Occupational Health and Safety Diploma, Degree, or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
  • First Aid/CPR and AED Certification.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive safety management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing corporate safety programs in industries such as construction, industrial services, manufacturing, utilities, or mining.
  • Strong track record of leading regulatory compliance initiatives and successfully passing external audits.
  • Experience managing safety teams and budgets across multiple business units.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Expert knowledge of Saskatchewan OH&S legislation and relevant Canadian safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to travel within Saskatchewan and occasionally to other provinces.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
    This position will be required to pass an annual Drug and Alcohol test.

As the Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a strong safety culture and safeguarding the well-being of employees across a dynamic group of companies in multiple sectors throughout Saskatchewan. Reporting directly to the VP of HR, you will provide strategic leadership in developing, implementing, and enhancing health and safety programs that not only meet but exceed Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation, industry standards, and company policies. This is a high-impact position where you will influence corporate strategy, lead meaningful safety initiatives, and collaborate with a committed leadership team that values operational excellence, innovation, and genuine care for people. Working closely with executives, site managers, and field staff, you will identify risks, implement robust safety management systems, and ensure full regulatory compliance. As the company’s primary liaison with safety regulators, industry associations, and external auditors, you will represent our organization with professionalism and integrity while driving a proactive, people-first approach to safety.
