JOB SUMMARY:

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by developing, implementing, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, local health and safety regulations, and construction safety best practices.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30/OSHA 510, CHST, CSP, or NEBOSH are highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train and influence site personnel at all levels.
  • Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Project Safety Plan, policies, and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; report findings and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and toolbox talks for workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all site activities comply with OSHA, local safety regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety statistics, incidents, near misses, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into planning and execution.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce compliance across the site.
  • Oversee permit-to-work systems, emergency response plans, and evacuation procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and ensure timely response to any citations or findings.
