  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of ergonomic assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills across all levels of an organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to collaborate with food safety and quality assurance teams to align EHS and food safety goals.
  • Basic understanding of supporting food safety audits or regulatory inspections (e.g., USDA, FDA).
  • Familiarity with cold storage, temperature control, and safe warehouse practices related to perishable goods.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs in alignment with URM’s EHS standards.
  • Maintain strong visibility on the warehouse floor to actively promote, support, and reinforce daily safe work practices.
  • Champion a proactive, positive safety culture within warehouse operations.
  • Partner with the Director of Insurance & Safety and Warehouse Operations teams to prioritize safety and compliance by identifying and applying industry best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement EHS initiatives that drive operational excellence and employee well-being.
  • Coordinate the necessary resources to ensure EHS requirements are clearly understood and consistently met across the facility.
  • Conduct and coordinate regular EHS inspections and self-assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide EHS oversight and risk mitigation support during the installation of new or modified equipment and processes.
  • Maintain and update Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certifications remain current.
  • Participate in and support EHS audits and environmental monitoring (e.g., noise, chemical exposure) to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.
