Description Job Summary: Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, secure environment for the students and staff through implementing a comprehensive safety plan following Job Corps regulations, OSHA Standards and company policies. Duties/Responsibilities: Must create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers. Adheres to the Policies Requirements Handbook (PRH) and Career Systems Development (CSD) policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures. Develops, implements, and maintains Center Safety Plans consistent with applicable statutes and Center policies to always ensure the safety of students and staff. Conducts daily, weekly and monthly inspections of Center facilities and equipment as required and maintains documentation of inspections. Facilitates the Center’s Monthly Safety Committee meeting and provides required training to participants. Conducts analysis of student & staff injuries and near misses to identify trends and develop corrective action. Complete all required PRH training (Exhibit 5-4) within he specified timeframes. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with local law enforcement and Emergency Management Services that serve the Center. Attends & participates in the monthly CSD Safety Meeting. Coordinates required quarterly Environmental Inspections of facilities with 3rd party providers. Prepares reports and maintains files on all DOL, OSH, FDA, EPA and other federal agency required reports related to safety. Ensures the Center compliance with OSH and other health and safety regulations. Designs and implements orientation programs for all new staff and students on safety matters. Provides training for Center staff and students to ensure that safety and security policies and practices are understood. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-year broad-based civilian, military security or fire prevention and safety experience. Preferred: Extensive experience and able to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance. Knowledge: Knowledge of standard security, fire prevention and safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Must possess a valid State driver’s license. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Familiarity with the problems of underprivileged, minority groups, especially youth. Must obtain and maintain CPR/FA Certification.
