Description:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- University graduate/ BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience as safety officer/ 25 - 30 years old
- In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EPA) and procedures
- Very good knowledge of ISO process and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Certificate/s in occupational health and safety (NEBOSH/IOS/OSHA)
Responsibilities:
- Develop specific safety objectives and create actions plans to meet those objectives
- Maintain, review and report safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along with implementing preventative and corrective actions as required
- Identifying changes in activities, products and services that may create new QHSE Risks or invalidate previously identified risks, aspects and hazards an ongoing basis.
- Compiling, Validating, maintaining and reviewing RISK Register as per the organization’s procedure
- Monitoring and updating the IMS programs in PEC meetings
- Organizing, Coordinating and preparing/distributing minutes of Safety Committee meetings.
- Assist line management personnel in meeting their obligations under the relevant Occupational Health & Safety legislation, such as ongoing safety education, hazard identification and elimination.
- Internal/ External communication related to HSE regulations, Legal & other requirements, evaluation of compliance.
- Ensuring the contractor and his personnel working inside company are aware and abide to organizations IMS requirements.
