We are looking for a responsible Safety Officer to facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. You will provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. You will also be on a constant lookout for violations.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible individual who swears by OSH regulations. Your work will be largely focused on prevention so you need to be conscientious and farsighted. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.
Job Description:
- Meeting company health and safety goals by creating and developing health and safety policies and procedures
- Carry out workplace inspection, keeping on the viewpoint for any unsafe act and unsafe condition behavior or breaks in regulations.
- Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of the operation
- Prepare risk assessment
- Inspecting production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe and coordinating with the maintenance team for a repair of equipment
- Conduct health and safety training for workers
- Creating safety plans that include suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and business processes
- Sharing information, suggestions, and observations to department supervisor to create consistency in safety standards throughout the production team and the entire company
- Prepare incident report/investigation and discuss with management for implementing corrective action
- Maintain and Comply with external and internal regulation to meet the standards of code of practice on health, safety, and environment
- Conduct Daily Inspection for production staff for wearing complete Personal Protective Equipment at work
- Purchase and monitor the supply and storage of Personal Protective Equipment
- Coordinate effectively to maintenance contractors any maintenance and emergency calls and organize submitted service reports
- Provide first aid treatment to workers and maintain a supply of first aid kits in every department
- Contact external emergency numbers in case of a major accident at work
- Ensure daily storage of hazardous chemicals meets the approved capacity and properly monitor the disposal of hazardous waste regulation as per Dubai Municipality
- Organize and prepare the list for requirements to local and private sectors in renewing the Licenses and Permits
- Coordinate and assist sub-contractors and maintenance providers to conduct any maintenance check-up or repair
- Assisting Management and visitors if conducting company visit

REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as safety officer
- In depth knowledge of legislation ( OSHA/EPA) and procedures
- Acquired NEBOSH certificates
- Excellent knowledge in UAE Authority standards and safety procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
