Description

the Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment within the flexible packaging manufacturing facility. This includes monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety protocols, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA certification (mandatory).
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in flexible packaging, printing, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE labor law, occupational health, and safety regulations.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety programs.
  • Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor company occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, local government regulations, and international safety standards (ISO, BRCGS, etc.).
  • Conduct daily plant inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce compliance.
  • Lead accident/incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Conduct safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
  • Maintain and update safety records, checklists, and documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and fire safety programs.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure machine safety, chemical handling, and ergonomics standards are followed.
  • Promote a culture of “zero accidents” and continuous safety improvement across the organization.
