QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Environmental Occupational Safety and Health with at least 5 years of work experience in rail transit projects preferred.
  • A registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with Ministry of Manpower, Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with Ministry of Environment and have good knowledge of Singapore Workplace Safety & Health Act and relevant rules & regulations.
  • Working experience in implementing of EHS system within an organization.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in the Workplace Safety & Health Act and other regulatory requirements.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills with good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of potential high-risk activities and related control measures, e.g, Work at height, Confined Space, Lifting, Hot work and related activities
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

  • Responsible for Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) system & matters related to compliance with relevant Acts, rules, regulations and ISO standards (ESH)
  • Promote awareness and implement good practice work method for compliance with ESH system
  • Liaise and follow up with internal and external parties related to EHS system matters

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with government health, safety and environmental regulations, facilitating of routine improvement and awareness on safety issue.
  • Assist the management in organizing and promoting EHS activities and campaigns to raise the EHS awareness of all site personnel.
  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying and assessing any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes.
  • Monitor the overall environment, safety and health of the workplace by conducting regular inspections at work sites.
  • Compile all relevant reports and records, and update monthly safety reports.
  • Reviewing, implementing and managing the Workplace’s Safety Management System in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  • Timely communication and updates to site leadership of new and significant developments and implementation action plans progress status, conduct incident investigation and track the corrective actions as required.
  • Assist in conducting all workplace near miss, reportable incidents and implement the investigation recommendation.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents and recommend preventive measures.
  • Develop and conduct safety briefing when required.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits on site.
