JOB SUMMARY

The Safety Officer plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment within our organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and policies to minimize workplace hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations. The Safety Officer will collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety, conduct training sessions, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.

SKILLS

- - Solid understanding of Basic OSHA standards
- - Knowledge of EPA regulations and workers compensation laws
- - Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques
- - Certification in First Aid, CPR, and other relevant safety certifications
- - Excellent report writing skills
- - Willing to travel to out of town work sites when necessary
- - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- - Experience in Quality control and Inventory management
- -Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point or similar software
- -Valid Driver’s License and clean Driving record of 3 years
- Ability to work outside, and on your feet for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the continued development and implementation of safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures
  • Provide safety training and education programs to employees on topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Help maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
