FULL TIME SAFETY OFFICER:
Westrich Pacific Corp is an innovative Western Canadian Developer specializing in high rise concrete condominiums and mixed use developments. We are growing our low rise multi family construction team. We are looking for a Construction Safety Officer to join our Construction team. The CSO will work directly with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Site Operatives in all coordination and administration activities regarding site safety and hazard prevention.
The successful candidate is responsible for the following responsibilities but not limited to:·
- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow-up assessments.
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on-premises or at project site locations.
- Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirms project site fulfills industry, local, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
- Provides technical support to project managers.
- Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records.
- Lead site safety meetings and record minutes.
- Submit the required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Identify and address all unsafe acts and conditions.
- Initiate and support incident responses, notifications, and investigation activities.
- Conduct Toolbox meetings for site personnel.
- Review all Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Conduct detailed Job Hazard Analyses for all tasks on site.
- Review and implement Safe Work Practices
- Investigate Incidents and report back to H&S manager.
- Inspect and Audit job sites.
- Lead the site Emergency Response protocols in cooperation with site supervision.
- Maintain all site paper and electronic filing systems.
- perform competency assessment and training for workers if required.
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
- Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
- Maintain and update certificates to stay current with legislation
- Travel between job sites.
