POSITION SUMMARY As a Safety Professional at Fergusons Downtown, you are responsible for creating and maintaining a secure, welcoming environment for guests, tenants, team members, and event participants. You are expected to uphold company policies, enforce safety procedures, protect property and individuals, and foster a positive experience for everyone on-site. This position plays a vital role in daily property operations, events, and community engagement, while ensuring all interactions reflect Fergusons' values of hospitality, safety, and integrity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Patrolling & Surveillance * Conduct hourly property walks of all Fergusons locations. * Monitor video surveillance and identify suspicious activity or safety risks. * Ensure doors, gates, and locks are secure at all times. * Navigate property efficiently and respond quickly using knowledge of the layout. * Monitor and respond to the security radio channel. Safety & Security Enforcement * Enforce Fergusons’ safety policies and applicable laws with professionalism. * Respond to incidents, evaluate risks, and determine appropriate action. * Assist with conflict resolution involving guests, tenants, or team members. * Perform ID checks and restrict access to controlled areas as necessary. * Support in detaining individuals if required, following company policy and legal standards. * Control scenes of incidents while preserving safety and dignity for all parties. Guest & Community Engagement * Provide a friendly and approachable presence throughout the property. * Assist guests with directions, questions, or general concerns. * Support events by helping with crowd control, check-ins, and logistical needs. * Assist Greeters and Event Staff as needed to ensure smooth operations. Operations & Support * Log incidents, track and report maintenance or safety concerns. * Assist maintenance teams to appropriate job sites and confirm their access authorization. * Handle mail and package delivery processes for commercial tenants, including logging and communication. * Monitor trash pickups and escalate delays to management to prevent sanitation issues. * Assist in moving outdoor furniture and implementing rain protocols when needed. Additional Expectations * Attend all required training and safety briefings. * Maintain knowledge of Fergusons’ offerings, events, and layout to assist guests efficiently. * Always look for opportunities to assist others, improve guest experience, and ensure safety. * Report all incidents and violations promptly to management. * Other job-related duties as assigned by management. JOB QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 1 year of experience in safety, security, or guest service roles. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. * Ability to stay calm and perform effectively under pressure. * Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable laws, city ordinances, and safety procedures. * Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required * Must be 21 years of age or older. * High School Diploma or GED required. * Ability to obtain necessary work cards or certifications (e.g., Sheriff’s Card, TAM Card if required). WORKING CONDITIONS * Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift (up to 50 lbs frequently, 100 lbs occasionally). * Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. * Exposure to noise, dust, and occasional contact with hazardous materials may occur. * Use of radios, surveillance systems, and tablets is required.
