POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Professional to support our heavy civil construction projects throughout Florida. The successful candidate will oversee and implement site-specific safety programs, conduct routine site visits, and promote a culture of safety throughout the company. This position requires regular travel to active construction sites across the region.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related Engineering field
  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety Training
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in heavy civil or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
  • Willingness and ability to travel weekly to job sites across Florida

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
  • Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification
  • Experience working in road building, site development, or utility access projects

Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly site visits to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Implement and maintain MG Dyess’s health and safety programs across all projects
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments on job sites
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and coaching to field staff and subcontractors
  • Collaborate with project management teams to plan safe work practices and mitigate hazards
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and reports as required
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure site compliance with OSHA standards
