As a Safety/Security Dispatcher, you’ll play a key role in fostering that safety within Legacy Health’s boundaries. You’ll provide courteous assistance as an informational resource and help ensure the security of our buildings, equipment, and other assets. Responsibilities Receives and coordinates requests for assistance from Safety/Security personnel within Legacy Health and with external community partners. Provides quick, accurate, professional, and courteous service in all communications and interactions. Applies working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness. Follows established protocols and procedures consistently in all situations. Communicates necessary services to Safety/Security Officers or other relevant departments promptly. Responds calmly and efficiently to emergency situations. Monitors all communication channels, asks appropriate questions according to protocol, and notifies designated personnel as required. Maintains accurate logs, records, and call lists. Completes and submits reports in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors or management. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma of equivalent required. Associates of arts degree in Criminal Justice, Communications or equivalent preferred. Experience: Minimum two years experience in Corrections, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responder or related Security. Minimum one year experience with heavy public contact with an emphasis on customer service. One year experience as a Legacy Safety/Security Officer preferred. Experience with dispatch related software and equipment. Must be trained at the following campuses within 120 days of starting the position: Emanuel, Good Samaritan, Holladay Park, Mount Hood, Meridian Park, and Salmon Creek Hospital. Skills: Ability to accept and follow direction. Ability to make sound decisions quickly and logically. Ability to cope with the physical and mental demands of a dynamic environment. Ability to calmly deal with people in emergent situations. Ability to work well in a fast paced, multiple activity environments. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Ability to work in a self-directed manner. Ability to maintain excellent rapport with public and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to understand and use good body mechanics. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented. Licensure Successful completion of both classroom portion of MOAB training certification within 120 days of the first day of placement within the department and then recertification every two years thereafter. DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) unarmed professional temporary certification (PS 20) or current DPSST unarmed professional certification required upon placement. The DPSST unarmed professional certification must be obtained within 120 days of the first day of placement in the department. Pay Range USD $27.12 - USD $38.77 /Hr. Responsibilities
