Job Title: Safety Services Case Manager Department: Foster Care Status: Full-time, Exempt Reports To: Program Supervisor Starting Pay: $40,832 - $58,000 annually, dependent on education and experience PURPOSE: The Safety Services Case Manager will collaborate with DCFS, Intact teams, Placement teams, youth, birth families, foster parents, and other identified supports while overseeing and managing the services embedded in an impending danger plan. Safety Service Case Manager will visit with members of the child and family team as required and work to identify any barriers to successfully completing the impending danger plan and help secure supports and services to overcome identified barriers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned · Establishes a therapeutic alliance and engage families, caregivers, and other service providers in the treatment process · Willingness to travel as this position requires frequent travel and vehicle use; follows agency and state guidelines regarding driving, rules of the road, and safety · Available and responsive to inquiries from the Intact Family Services Worker regarding potential for involvement with an in-home impending danger plan in a timely manner · Collaborates on the development of an in-home impending danger plan · Contacts safety service providers to assess and determine suitability; Safety Manager provides information on regarding suitability of safety service providers to IFS Worker for necessary background checks to be completed · Ensures understanding and ability to manage the impending danger plan as written · Seeks clarification from IFS Worker as needed · Prepares safety service providers and ensures understanding and ability to manage the impending danger plan as written · Attends safety management meetings where discussion is required regarding sufficiency of impending danger plan and any changes that need to be made Please note that the Responsibilities and Qualifications provide a general overview of the primary duties for this role and the basic qualifications. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED Degree/Field Required: High School Diploma or GED (Related fields will be considered.) Degree/Field Preferred: Associate degree from an accredited community college or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or in Human Services (Related fields will be considered.) Experience Required: Must be 21 years of age or older, and have at least 2 years' work experience in their area of job responsibility SKILLS REQUIRED Trauma-informed: Must display a willingness to adopt trauma informed interventions, principles, and practices as well as commitment to ongoing development of their capacity for application of trauma informed care. Realizes the prevalence of trauma among persons served by Caritas and the general population. Recognizes how trauma affects everyone involved-including clients, their families, staff, and community; and impacts behaviors. Responds to trauma by actively implementing the guiding principles of trauma informed care into their daily practice. Resists re-traumatization of persons served and staff providing services, by creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments.
