We’re looking for a Safety Specialist to join our team in Vineland, NJ, a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Requirements As a Safety Specialist, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for safety initiatives, providing technical expertise, guidance, and coordination across our production facility. You’ll work closely with plant operations, Human Resources, and corporate Safety leadership to ensure compliance, strengthen our programs, and lead proactive safety improvements. Key responsibilities include: · Coordinate safety activities to ensure coverage of all aspects of F&S Fresh Foods’ safety programs. · Perform safety audits and data analysis to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. · Develop and maintain reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety objectives and initiatives. · Conduct job safety analysis and recommend risk mitigation solutions (ergonomics, LOTO, PPE, fall prevention, etc.). · Inspect or verify inspection of safety equipment (eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, AEDs, first aid kits). · Maintain technical knowledge of OSHA, DOT, DEP, and EPA regulations. · Track corrective actions through completion and coordinate follow-ups. · Manage safety programs including audits, training, and emergency management. · Lead and report on Employee Safety Committee meetings. · Assist with investigations of incidents, injuries, and near-miss events. · Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and documentation requirements. · Develop and implement new safety policies and initiatives to strengthen the culture of safety. · Respond promptly to employee safety concerns, providing clear guidance and support. · Partner cross-functionally with Training and HR teams to support safety education and compliance. · Respond to and manage employee workplace injuries, ensuring timely and appropriate medical assistance. · Coordinate medical evaluations, treatments, and return-to-work processes with external providers. · Define and implement medical support procedures or internal follow-up actions based on injury type and severity. · Maintain accurate injury records and follow up on all reported incidents until closure. · Collaborate with HR and management to ensure compliance with workers’ compensation and safety regulations. What Makes You a Great Fit We’re looking for someone with: · Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently. · 3–5 years of technical safety experience in manufacturing, food production, or related industrial environments. · Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage safety programs and training initiatives that drive compliance and employee engagement. · Current safety training and certifications (OSHA 10 & 30-Hour preferred), with a strong understanding of workplace regulations and best practices. · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, able to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. · Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with safety management systems or data reporting tools. · In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures, from incident reporting to claim management and return-to-work coordination. · Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and protecting employees in a produce and refrigerated food environment.
