Description
This position supports the Manager, HESS and Supervisor, Safety in implementing and maintaining safety programs at one Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. This role ensures operational compliance, assists in inspections and audits, supports emergency preparedness, and promotes a culture of prevention across port operations as an important member of the HESS organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety Support Conduct safety inspections of workplace and guest areas. Conduct job observations. Monitor emergency equipment and PPE compliance. Assist with fire safety checks and drills. Support incident investigations and reporting. Assist in incident investigation process. Support the risk assessment of new equipment and substances. Support the oversight of contractors’ safety and practices. Support the oversight of permit for work processes. Support the technical team in job-safety analysis. Emergency Preparedness Participate in cross-functional emergency drills and training. Maintain readiness of emergency supplies and documentation. Support implementation of emergency response protocols. Assist in execution of emergency response protocols. Other Functions Maintain accurate records and support data analysis. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed. Participate in on-the-job training and educational sessions. Maintain accurate recordkeeping and provide timely completion of assigned tasks within the maintenance software. SKILLS SPECIFICS: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to health, safety, environmental protection, and security. Take all necessary precautions, use personal protective equipment (PPE), safety devices, and tools correctly and consistently, as required by the nature of the work. Promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor or HESS representative. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, as well as that of colleagues and others who may be affected by your actions. Actively participate in HESS trainings and initiatives that promote a safe, secure, and environmentally sustainable workplace. Cooperate fully with company efforts to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Seek opportunities to improve safety and environmental performance in daily tasks. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in environmental, public health, or safety preferred. 1–3 years in HESS-related roles or operational support functions. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 45001 and OSHA is a plus. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically fit. Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed. May need to stand for long periods of time. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data entry and reporting tools. Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving. Ability to multi-task and think critically Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Responsibilities
