Reports To: HR Manager New York Mutual Trading is looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will oversee and implement workplace safety through training protocols, ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, and supporting the reduction of worker injuries. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to safety and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience in loss prevention, safety management, or risk management roles preferred.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to loss prevention and safety.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and compliance with safety regulations.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, OSHA certifications) are preferred.
Stay up to date with changes in DOT regulations and ensure that company policies are updated accordingly.

Responsibilities

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Assist with the site emergency action plan and liaise with local first responders when necessary.
  • Maintain documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as fire departments and insurance personnel.
  • Ensure the visibility of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives at the site level.
