JOB SUMMARY

Pavement Restorations, Inc. (PRI) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to support our asphalt paving and restoration operations in East Tennessee (Knoxville). This field-based role will report directly to the Safety Director. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety through education, support, and collaboration with field teams.
This position is ideal for a safety professional who is committed to building strong relationships, encouraging safe work practices, and partnering with operational teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

What you will need: (minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of safety experience in a construction environment; experience in asphalt paving is preferred
  • CHST and OSHA 510 certification strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Proven ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly in response to job site incidents
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and support team members at all levels
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outloo

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Safety Director in the development and refinement of safety protocols and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections of job sites to identify and address potential hazards
  • Lead thorough investigations following incidents or near-miss events to determine root causes and evaluate adherence to safety policies
  • Implement and promote safety measures across field operations and work zones
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on safe work practices and regulatory requirements
  • Support the coordination and delivery of safety education programs
  • Contribute to the development of safety manuals, field guidelines, and other instructional materials
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project teams to ensure safety processes are integrated into daily operations
  • Oversee the availability of first aid resources and ensure prompt care is provided in the event of an injury
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Safety Director
