Responsibilities
  • Developing and enforcing safety procedures, hazard control practices, and safety programs specific to curtain wall installation.
  • Identifying potential hazards associated with curtain wall work (e.g., working at heights, handling materials, equipment operation) and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Providing safety training to workers involved in curtain wall installation, ensuring they understand potential hazards and safe work procedures.
  • Investigating accidents and near-miss incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans for situations like falls, injuries, or weather-related incidents.
  • Communicating safety requirements to workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative approach to safety.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Interacting with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, Ministry of Manpower) on safety-related matters.
  • Creating a positive and proactive safety culture on the construction site, encouraging workers to prioritize safety in all their activities.
  • Reviewing and approving lift plans for curtain wall installation equipment.
  • Ensuring proper scaffolding and fall protection systems are in place.
  • Verifying that workers are using appropriate PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and harnesses.
  • Monitoring weather conditions and ensuring safe work practices during inclement weather.
  • Conducting toolbox talks on specific safety topics related to curtain wall work.
  • Providing guidance on the safe use of power tools and equipment.
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping on the site to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Coordinating with other trades to ensure safe work practices during shared work areas
