Position Purpose In this role, the Safety Technician will support JCB North American headquarters operations located in Pooler, GA. This role will support the EHS Director, Manager and Specialist in all areas applicable to OSHA general industry manufacturing as well as all Federal and State Environmental responsibilities typical to manufacturing operations. The majority of time for this job is on the manufacturing floor. Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities Provide day to day support for all core OSHA programs and standards applicable to general industry manufacturing Support in the development and updates of OSHA and Environmental policies, programs and standards Support with and lead incident investigations (first aid, near misses, recordable, environmental and property damage) using a team-based approach to problem solving and to effectively implement corrective actions Support in preparation and delivery of EHS performance reports for leadership Support implementation of sustainability and recycling initiatives Conduct EHS related inspections and audits, generate reports and communicate findings. Provide day-to-day technical safety and health advice and consultation to employees and contractors Train and certify employees on forklifts and P.I.Ts. Identify and address at risk behaviors and conditions Capable of developing PowerPoint Presentations, Excel documents, and strong record keeping skills. Other duties as assigned by the Director or Manager of Safety Minimum Qualifications Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable. 2 years related experience in general industry manufacturing environments Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10/30 card, environmental certifications, experience preferred Basic understanding of fire protections systems a plus, but not required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies Ability to learn knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Regulatory Compliance Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in communication and persuasion in employee interactions Skills related to computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
