Description

This position helps youth and young adults understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven. Manages the Seminaries and Institutes of Religion stake-called teacher workforce. The position exists to ensure that stake-called teaching is aligned with approved S&I curriculum and that local Priesthood leaders’ needs are met.

  • Interfaces with the regional director, stake-called teachers, Area office staff and management, priesthood leaders, parents, and students, and manages the affairs of all assigned programs which include the stakes P orto Stake (including the Institute Campus ), Porto North Stake, Coimbra Stake and Azores District
  • Receives direction from and counsels with the regional director.
  • Trains stake-called teachers.
  • Oversees financial matters.
  • Performs administrative duties to track and report teaching activities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach effectively and administer appropriately.
  • Supervises employees and stake-called teachers.
  • Manages buildings and properties in cooperation with Facilities Management (FM).
  • Provides orientation materials and opportunities for professional development.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints (applicant must be a member with a valid Temple recommend)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education.
  • Model temple marriage.
  • Acknowledged role model for youth and ability to relate to, and work closely with, seminary aged youth, college students and called teachers.
  • Administrative skills (including Microsoft Office proficiency).
  • Native level Portuguese and proficiency level in English language are required (both spoken and written).
  • Willingness to relocate to Porto or surroundings if required.
