Description:

Be part of our journey…
Location: Local communities (schools, community venues etc.) in the Southampton area
Level of DBS Required: Basic
What we do…
Saints Foundation support Southampton by delivering projects that respond to the ever-evolving needs of the people of our city. We work across five key focuses – Health, Education, Development, Employability and Pathways – with the aim of levelling the playing field.
This volunteering opportunity falls within the Kicks project. Our Kicks project aims to offer positive engagement for young people aged 8-18 within their communities, with the aim of reducing anti-social behaviour, crime and to build strong positive connections. Your role in our team will be to support the lead coaches to facilitate these activities and help staff work positively with young people across the city.

Within this role, there are several tasks or activities a volunteer may be asked do to support our sessions. These may include:

  • Meet and greet participants at the entrance to sessions.
  • Help staff to set up activities at the start and throughout each session.
  • Actively support participants within sessions to keep them on task.
  • Help staff put away equipment at the end of each session.

What are we looking for?
This role is suitable for a volunteer who can confidently engage with young people from a variety of backgrounds, supporting the delivery of fun and engaging activities to help inspire and empower young people to maximize their potential.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to your community, gain new skills, and be part of a dedicated team. If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers and our staff is a key priority for us at Saints Foundation. We expect our volunteers to speak to our staff if they see or hear anything that makes them worried about someone or makes them feel uncomfortable in any way.
We are here to support you in your volunteering role with us, we don’t expect you to investigate or handle safeguarding concerns, but you will play an important role building relationships with our participants and therefore it is very important that any safeguarding information is passed on. We have an array of favourable safeguarding guidance and policies that we will share with you as a volunteer

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet participants at the entrance to sessions.
  • Help staff to set up activities at the start and throughout each session.
  • Actively support participants within sessions to keep them on task.
  • Help staff put away equipment at the end of each session
