Description General Summary This position presents and sells solar panel products and services to customers, developing new sales and leads from viable prospects who are sourced via cold calls, visits, and follow-ups from marketing campaigns. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Sales (70% of the time) a. Follows system designed by Management designed around CRM for how leads are tracked b. Qualifies leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities c. Contacts potential clients through cold calls and emails d. Presents the company to potential clients e. Identifies client needs and suggests appropriate products/services f. Builds long-term trusting relationships with clients g. Proactively seeks new business opportunities in the market h. Sets up meetings or calls with clients i. Reports to Senior Account Executive on weekly sales results j. Stays up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans 2. Marketing and Administrative (30% of the time) a. Prepares presentations, proposals, and sales contracts via phone b. Develops and maintains sales materials and current product knowledge c. Prepares paperwork to activate and maintain client information d. Manages account services through quality checks and other follow-ups e. Identifies and resolves client concerns f. Prepares a variety of weekly status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals g. Communicates new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff i. Participates in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events 3. Constantly drives for continuous improvement within the department 4. Performs in a manner consistent with company core values 5. Maintains the strictest confidentiality 6. Provides excellent customer service, for both internal and external customers 7. Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines 8. Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times 9. Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period 10. Follows other policies and procedures such as no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period Requirements Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required 1. High school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred 2. At least 2 years experience in outside sales, preferably product & service, B2C 3. Intermediate-level skill in the use of computer and software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 4. Ability to learn position-specific software packages 5. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness 6. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision 7. Ability to be persuasive over the phone 8. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and policy instructions 9. Ability to write routine reports, and general business correspondence 10. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, vendors, or customers 11. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, freight, and percentages. 12. Skilled in time management 13. Skilled in multitasking 14. Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include but are not limited to: walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods at a desk using a computer, phone, and headset; and occasionally lifting and carrying items that may weigh up to 25 pounds 15. Position spends approximately 90% of the time sitting at a desk and 10% standing or walking 16. Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range 17. Must possess a current, valid driver’s license for the state of residence 18. Must be able to travel overnight occasionally to trade shows
