The British Wax Refining Company Ltd is a 110+ year old established family business making specialised waxes for a wide range of consumer and professional uses such as candles, beauty, personal care, and food and drink coatings. We are located in a purpose-built HQ on the Holmethorpe Industrial Estate in Redhill, Surrey.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone to join us in our busy sales team, in a fixed-term maternity leave cover position. Ideally incorporating a 2-month handover, the position would commence in November 2025, and complete in December 2026, lasting approximately 14 months.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our sales process.

  • Sales Support – Acting as a key point of contact for new and existing customers, building successful, long-term customer relationships. You will work to satisfy customers’ needs and requests, respond to queries, process orders, and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience.

For the right candidate with marketing skills, experience or qualifications, this role can also be expanded to incorporate marketing responsibilities.

  • Marketing – supporting the company’s marketing strategy, including developing and producing effective social media, email, and website-based marketing content.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in sales administration or an office-based customer service role.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and trust.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficient at using CRM and ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

IF THE ROLE IS TO INCLUDE MARKETING:

  • Marketing qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Highly proficient in a variety of software and apps, particularly Canva and Mailchimp and publishing content on social media platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Creative, with the ability to develop engaging and relevant content.
    Job Type: Full-time, fixed term
    Contract: A 14-Month (approx.) fixed-term maternity leave cover, incorporating a 2-month handover, commencing November 2025 and completing in December 2026.
    Salary: Range of £29,000pa to £34,000pa, depending on experience and if marketing responsibilities are to be included
    Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
    Annual Leave: 23 days paid holiday per calendar year, excluding bank holidays
    Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 14 months
    Pay: £29,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
