Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support the Sales Team with the day to running of the Sales Department, providing excellent customer service and administrative support.

KEY TASKS:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls and emails in a professional, positive and timely manner
  • Deliver outstanding support to customers, providing prompt and accurate responses to all enquiries relating to stock availability, deliveries, back orders and product information
  • Process sales orders received via email or telephone. Checking orders diligently to ensure products, prices and shipping details are correct for each and every order received
  • Enter sales orders methodically onto Sage Line 50, ensuring addresses & customer details are correct and carriage charges are added as applicable
  • Recording customer amendments and enquires on Sage Line 50 and Act!, updating and recording information as necessary
  • Work closely with the rest of the Sales Team to encourage open discussion and information sharing, particulary when customer enquires or issues arise, promoting a highly effective team who are fully informed with current customer concerns
  • Identify new potential customers, swiftly handing them over to the Sales Office Manager so that they may establish the new relationship
  • Establish and nurture solid relationships with both internal and external stakeholders e.g. our haulage company. Building good rapport and trust through effective communication, tailoring your approach to meet customer and business needs
  • Support the Sales Team with any ad-hoc sales tasks that may arise e.g. filing, posting samples, preparing for marketing events, mailing post, temporarily provide cover for colleagues who are sick/on annual leave
  • Striving for continuous improvement and efficiency in all areas relating to Sales Administration
  • Any other duties as reasonably required
