Description Vision Bioenergy Oilseeds (VBO) is a agricultural joint venture with the mission of developing, growing and marketing high quality oilseed oil for use in the production of biofuels to help create a cleaner, more sustainable future. We operate a research & development center and processing facility in Nampa, Idaho. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sales Agronomist to join our team, focusing on the development and expansion of camelina production in Central Montana. This role plays a critical role in helping growers adopt camelina while building a reliable supply chain for downstream markets. Key Responsibilities: Develop and expand camelina production acreage by engaging directly with growers, agronomists, and channel partners. Provide technical agronomic support to farmers, including guidance on crop establishment, management, and performance optimization. Assist farmers in integrating camelina into existing crop rotations to enhance productivity and sustainability. Serve as a trusted advisor, offering expert advice on best practices for camelina cultivation and long-term crop adoption. Meet or exceed company acreage targets through proactive outreach and relationship management. Represent the company at grower meetings, field demonstrations, and trade shows. Support growers through the full season from pre-plant through harvest. Monitor crop progress and troubleshoot issues to ensure successful crop establishment and performance. Collect field data to improve agronomic recommendations. Collaborate with internal teams to develop educational materials, training sessions, and promotional activities related to camelina production. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field. 3 - 7 years experience in agronomy, seed sales, crop consulting, or specialty crop development. Experience with oilseed crops or rotational crops is preferred. Proven experience in relationship-based agricultural sales. Strong understanding of crop production systems in dryland and/or irrigated systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with growers and channel partners. Ability to analyze agronomic data and provide practical, actionable recommendations. Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently. Valid driver’s license (and ability to meet insurability requirements) and willingness to travel frequently within assigned regions. Comfortable working in a startup or emerging crop environment.
