OVERVIEW

We are looking for a part-time hire to join our team to work in our small canoe shop in Buckingham/Gatineau, QC. We sell high end canoes [Esquif, Rheaume] and complimentary accessories and gear for the boats. The role will mainly be customer facing - meeting customers who are coming to pick up their boats.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in a customer facing retail environment
• Able to communicate in both English and French [Bilingual]
• Able to lift 50+ lbs, including assisting customers in loading boats onto their vehicles, and move canoe inventory around the shop, as needed
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Knowledge of canoes and all the related gear is a big asset, but not necessary.
• Able to complete outfitting for canoes is also a big asset, but not necessary.
  An enthusiastic and ‘can do’ attitude is an absolute must for this role!
  If you’re looking for a part-time position [5-10 hours per week, split over one weekday, and one weekend day], with increased hours during the busier canoe season (March to September). We look forward to meeting you!

  Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

• Prepare canoes for customer pick ups
• Assist customers in loading boats onto their vehicles
• Collect any remaining payments that customers are to provide, via Shopify platform
• Fulfil all online customer orders for canoe gear and prepare them for shipment, utilizing the Shopify platform. We send out many PFDs, paddles, and canoe gear all over Canada and the US!
• Maintain a clean and organize shop
• Prepare canoe shop for incoming inventory, and carefully move boats around as needed
• Identify opportunities for upselling products or services based on customer needs when they come pickup their boats
• Provide regular and clear communication with manager regarding inventory levels, status of customer visits, and shift tasks completed
