Position Overview The Design + Sales position actively pre-qualifies, pursues, engages, and closes Cabinet and related products and service sales for contractors, design partners, and retail customers. The position is responsible for fully identifying, qualifying, and selling to the contractor, design partner, and retail customer segments of the organization. These segments are vital to the organization and require comprehensive pre-qualification effort inclusive of documented reporting of prospects prior to full sales support. Key Responsibilities • Develop and close new business with contractors, design partners, and retail customers • Detailed management and maintenance of customer list • Customer interface, management, and maintenance • Sales material development and presentation • Concept and final design and drawing development • Budget/price estimate development • File creation and management as it pertains to customer development and management • Other duties as may be assigned Working Relationships This role requires daily communication with a wide variety of people including, but not limited to: Contractors/Builder executives, Design Professionals, Contractor/Builder site personnel, Tharp personnel including upper managers, A/R and A/P, Manufacturing personnel, Project Management staff, Delivery staff, and Installation Staff. Professionalism and business acumen are essential. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required to complete work requirements, as well as occasional weekend customer appointments. Hours outside of standard schedule will be determined based on customer needs and managed by the Design + Sales person. Requirements Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Proficient computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Excel, etc. • Ability to learn and use proprietary custom software solutions • Excellent customer service, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage several activities at once and make decisions as circumstances change • Manage allocated resources such as the Design team to confirm customer requests are captured in drawings and quotes • Set and manage customer expectations relating to design, quote, product, and service • Advocate for continuous improvement and tight process adherence to deliver quality • Complete customer follow-up post project completion to obtain reviews and confirm satisfaction • Ability to work well in a team environment • Ability to read and interpret construction documents including plans, specifications, and contracts • Participate with a Tharp Project Manager for product and customer development and relationships • Create and maintain customer lists including management of customer status and yearly cNPS • Create and present company sales presentations • Complete customer design meetings in any Tharp showroom location • Capture customer needs and develop solutions through active questioning and listening • Communicate market trends and make recommendations on possible product implementation • Ability to develop conceptual drawings and design • Capable of multi-tasking to deadlines to meet customer needs and timelines • Ability to successfully maintain relationships intellectually as well as technologically • Experience in cabinet manufacturing, engineering, and production Education High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or directly applicable work experience. Experience Previous sales, lead generation, lead development, and customer service experience with a proven track record of closing sales and delivering excellent customer communication are required. Licenses Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a driving record that meets Tharp’s requirements. Physical Requirements 20% standing, 20% walking, 60% sitting. Must strictly adhere to company safety policy, including wearing required safety equipment (glasses, hard hat, etc.) where applicable. Driving and travel by personal vehicle is required.
