Location: Park Hall Hotel & Spa, Lancashire
Salary: £32,000 per annum + 10% Bonus
Contract: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sales & Events Manager is responsible for leading and developing the sales and events function, driving revenue through proactive sales activity, and ensuring the successful delivery of conferences, weddings, and events. This role combines commercial strategy with hands-on event management, while also mentoring and supporting the events team to achieve business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive event and conference bookings.
  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, and private sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agents, and partners to maximise repeat and referral business.
  • Represent the hotel at networking events, exhibitions, and trade shows to promote facilities and services.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
  • Achieve and exceed revenue and conversion targets for meetings, conferences, weddings, and events.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all events, ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction.
  • Lead the coordination between internal departments (catering, operations, AV, housekeeping, etc.) to deliver seamless events.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key clients before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure events are delivered within budget, contractual terms, and brand standards.
  • Review post-event evaluations and implement improvements.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the Sales & Events team, ensuring they meet sales and service objectives.
  • Allocate and oversee workload across the team, including enquiry handling, proposals, and contracts.
  • Support professional development through coaching and performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive, proactive, and customer-focused team culture.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, reports, and performance metrics for senior management.
  • Oversee the use of CRM and booking systems, ensuring accurate data entry and pipeline management.
  • Control departmental budgets and expenditure in line with company targets.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports and contribute to management meetings.
