Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales and Event Manager to oversee all aspects of banquet operations and drive sales for events and catering services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events while maintaining strong client relationships and meeting revenue goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2-year hospitality sales work experience. A focus on corporate sales is preferred.
  • Degree, diploma or certification in hospitality, event planning, sales or marketing.
  • Proven experience in sales and banquet management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of event planning and catering operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Proficient in CRM software, event management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as
    required. Ability to work long hours on occasion.

Responsibilities:

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize event bookings and banquet revenue.
  • Identify and build relationships with potential clients, including corporate, social, and wedding markets.
  • Responsible for selling room nights, event spaces, food and beverage and event services
    with a focus on corporate, social events, weddings and maximizing profits of the hotel

    and banquet departments.

  • Conduct site visits, participate in trade shows, prepare proposals, and deliver presentations to prospective clients.

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure business while ensuring profitability.
  • Maintain and update a database of leads, contacts, and past clients.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.

EVENT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet events, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to finalize event details, including menu selection, room setup, and AV requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as culinary, operations, and service staff, to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Control costs for banquet operations without compromising quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints during events promptly and professionally.
  • Supervise and train banquet staff to deliver exceptional service.
