SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Constantly improve knowledge and show a desire to learn, attend company’s trainings.
  • Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance to ensure the department runs efficiently, and assist in the event of absence cover.
  • Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English Language is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS and Symphony system is preferable.
  • Previous experience in hotel environment is preferable.
Responsibilities

We are looking for a Sales and Event Coordinator that understands what it takes to be the best and preferably with proven success in a similar environment.

The successful Sales and Event Coordinator will undertake the following duties:

  • Demonstrate full understanding of the Group & Events Sales strategy and ensure this is implemented
  • Take enquiries and bookings for conference & banqueting events and weddings via telephone and emails.
  • Prepare, update, and send events proposals to clients in a timely manner
  • File all correspondences relating to events enquiries and confirmed events business.
  • Log all sales enquiries and maintain an effective follow–up of the system and clients’ needs to secure business and provide an after-sales service.
  • Enter enquiries into the system
  • Prepare booking events orders, floor plan, menus, signage and other relevant paperwork to effectively communicate guest’s needs to internal and external sources.
  • Know hotel products and event spaces
  • Understand and know the catering options/food menu offered to clients
  • Compile statistics of events enquiries and their conversion into functions and room usage.
  • Conduct show rounds and meet walk-in clients.
  • Assist with PO’s and commission accruals.
  • Sell rooms, meeting and function space maximizing revenue.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and other activities as required.
  • Assist the team in sending out contracts and raising invoices.
  • Support the Sales Manager/Director in researching markets to identify opportunities for new business.
