JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales & Marketing officer will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth for the event centre and enhancing overall business performance by ensuring a high volume of bookings for the venue. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving growth for the event centre. This role will involve planning for the marketing of the venue, rental bookings, client relationship management, and identifying new market opportunities. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and is extremely personable, persuasive, able to work and collaborate with people of diverse personalities to align business objectives with operational success. The sales & marketing Officer will liaise with the programme/Business Development Manager to ensure a smooth process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, HNDor related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in sales and marketing preferably within hospitality, events or lifestyle in the event industry.

CORE SKILLS AND FUNCTION. COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and strategic marketing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint , project management software, and CRM systems.
  • A strong network within the corporate and event planning communities is a plus.
  • Engaging personality with a broad network across sectors
Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and pursue business opportunities, particularly bookings (e.g., from corporate entities, religious communities for private parties, pop-up vendors etc).
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and follow them up to convert inquiries into bookings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies that trigger inquiries, convert them into bookings.
  • Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and business retention. Provide updates on current trends and public preferences that directly affect sales and bookings.
  • Identify and engage with complementary businesses (e.g., event planners, decorators) to create mutually beneficial referral arrangements.
  • Liaise with the Programme/Business Development Manager for proposed custom events and ensure event requirements are clearly communicated and executed according to plan.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track company performance, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies for improvement.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential growth opportunities, new market segments, and emerging business trends that can contribute to long-term success.
  • Work closely with management to set monthly and quarterly sales targets and contribute to pricing strategies and promotional offers to optimize revenue and occupancy.
  • Attain assigned weekly, monthly and quarterly target goals in order to achieve set financial goals, improve overall profitability, drive sustainable growth, and enhance market positioning.
  • Ensure accurate bookings and reporting of financial impact to management in order to ensure long-term financial stability.
