Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic Sales & Service Specialist to develop and manage business opportunities within the marine industry, with a primary focus on marine safety equipment and related services.

The role will be responsible for building strong relationships with ship owners, ship management companies, shipyards, marine contractors, and other key maritime stakeholders, while driving sales, coordinating service activities, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate should have a strong commercial mindset, good technical understanding of marine safety equipment, and the ability to manage both sales and after-sales service activities.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the marine industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, ship managers, shipyards, fleet operators, and marine companies.
  • Promote and sell marine safety equipment, systems, spare parts, and related services.
  • Conduct customer visits, understand customer requirements, and propose suitable technical and commercial solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and follow up on offers through to order confirmation.
  • Negotiate commercial terms within company guidelines.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, exhibitions, and marine industry events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and execution of customer orders.

Service & After-Sales

  • Manage and develop after-sales business opportunities for marine safety equipment.
  • Coordinate inspection, testing, maintenance, servicing, repair, and certification activities.
  • Arrange service visits, onboard attendance, and customer support in coordination with service engineers/technicians.
  • Follow up on service reports, quotations, purchase orders, and invoicing.
  • Ensure customer issues and service requests are followed up and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Identify additional sales opportunities during service visits and customer interactions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the equipment and service lifecycle.

Key Product/Service Areas

Requirements

  • degree in Engineering, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in marine sales, marine equipment, ship management, shipyard, or a related technical/commercial environment.
  • Experience dealing with ship owners, ship managers, shipyards, or marine customers is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine safety equipment and related services.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into commercial solutions.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer accounts and opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, vessel visits, shipyards, and marine industry events.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP systems is an advantage.
