As Sales Application Chemist, this role will combine excellent scientific skills with strong commercial business acumen, and the desire to contribute to the customers’ success by helping them choose the best system solution from Waters product portfolio to address the customers’ analytical challenges. The Sales Applications Chemist will do sample analysis across multiple types of applications, Food & Environment, Chemical Materials, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences with a focus on not limited to HPLC instrumentations.
Responsibilities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: A BSc in a relevant field is required; MSc is preferred.
  • Pre-Sales Experience: At least 3 years of pre-sales experience in analytical instrumentation, particularly with chromatography (HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC). Experience with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/ GC-MS) or Empower software would be advantageous.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong experience in method development, troubleshooting HPLC and other analytical instruments.
  • Industry Application Knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge to various fields such as pharma, food, environmental sciences, chemical materials, and biopharma. Experience with biopharma applications would be advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Pre-Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Field Sales operations and SEA Business Partners to provide credible, impartial consultancy and technical support in a fast-paced pre-sales environment.
  • Technical Consultancy for Sales Teams: Offer expert technical advice to Account Managers on hardware system configurations and application solutions, ensuring the most suitable product offerings are identified for customer needs.
  • Product Demonstrations: Lead and perform compelling instrument demonstrations for prospective clients, emphasizing how Waters system solutions will effectively address and benefit the customer’s specific needs.
  • Customer-Facing Application Training and Troubleshooting: Deliver in-depth application training to customers post-sales and continue to offer expert guidance and troubleshooting through the product’ usage
  • Solution Lab Management: Work with the Applications Team Lead to manage day-to-day operations of the Singapore Solutions Lab, maintaining ownership and expertise over assigned Waters instrumentation, ensuring readiness for customer demonstrations and trials.
