Previously known as Goddards, we were founded in 1895 and commenced trading in High Street, King’s Lynn. We continued to trade from the High Street site until 1987 when we relocated to the former Bird in Hand Public House in Norfolk Street, later acquiring the building next door and expanding into it.
In 2001, the business transferred to the newly renovated site of former builders’ merchants, Crossleys, in Wellesley Street. We were acquired by WD Coe Ltd in August 2004 but continued to trade under the name of Goddards until September 2024 when we re-branded as W D Coe Ltd.
At Coes we curate our collections using our understanding of our customers needs. Our mission is to be the most trusted independent retailer. We aim is to provide customers with a total shopping experience. This has been achieved through gaining a reputation for providing quality, value and service in comfortable and convenient surroundings.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Your role will be to welcome and prioritise customers over other tasks and to acknowledge, listen effectively, establish needs and serve appropriately.
You will be able to sell associated products and have a thorough up to date knowledge of all products sold, current promotions and credit facilities.
You will also be able to ensure that problems encountered by customers are rectified satisfactorily and to work to the company’s returns policy and procedures.

OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

· Ensuring stock on sales floor and in stock rooms is tidy, in a logical order and merchandised well
· Being responsible for using an electronic point of sale system to process all transactions including sales, returns, inter-branch transfers and stock deliveries
The hours of work for this role are
Weekly hours: Monday to Saturday - 10.00 am to 4.00pm with one day off during the week.
