You may be confused why a Budtender job is listed as “Detective” on indeed. Many people apply to this job expecting a sales job, but actually, the most important part of your position is to figure out what someone actually wants when they walk in and say “I want some weed”. Since legalization is still new to a lot of people and there are so many new products being released every month, your job is to help someone figure out what the best products are for them when they themselves may not even know.
Budtenders will start part time with potential for future full time within 1-3 months. We are looking for team members who are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, responsible, accountable, and dedicated to continuous learning. There is also potential for growth into management opportunities for the right candidates as we are growing quickly and will soon require Assistant Store Managers, Inventory Managers, Merchandisers, etc.
Duties:
- Greet customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor
- Converse with customers to understand what types of products are a good fit for them, and make appropriate recommendations
- Educate customers about cannabis products, licensed producers, cannabis accessories, and more
Qualifications:
- Be 19+
- Minimum 1-2 years of sales experience
- Knowledgeable about cannabis, or enthusiastic to learn about cannabis
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Team player
- Available to work 4-8 hour shifts throughout the week
- Available to work weekends and evenings
- CannSell Retail Certificate and clean background check before your start date
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Wages start at $17.50-20/hour, depending on experience. Additional profit share and commission programs available for additional earnings post probationary period. Full time employees are also provided full health benefits.
There are also some hours available at our Midhurst location at 1179 Bayfield Street North, as well as our new location at 190 Memorial in Orillia.
